It was a rare occasion on the Indrakeeladri here on Friday with religious gurus, priests, and devotees performing Kumbhabhishekam after a gap of 15 years. The day was very auspicious with not only the Kumbhabhishekam of the Kanakadurga temple was performed by bringing water from three seas and several rivers in the country in 18 sacred pots to be poured on the gold-plated ‘Sikharam'.

A large number of devotees gathered on the hill top to offer prayers to the presiding deity and also Sri Malleswara Swamy. Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Jayendra Saraswati began the process of Kumbhabhisekam by performing the poornahuthi offering several material in the homakund by touching each of the material that went into the ritual.

The swamiji was unable to walk due to ill health so all the 18 pots were brought to him to touch them before they were taken on to the top of the Vimana gopuram by the chief priest.

In the presence of the Endowments Minister C. Ramachandraiah, the poornahuti was performed at 7.15 a.m.

Dhwajasthambam replaced

Dhwajasthambam of Sri Malleswara Swamy temple popularly known as Sivalayam was also replaced by performing homam and erecting a new Dhwajasthambam at 9.55 p.m.

వైభవంగా మహాకుంభాభిషేకం

కనకదుర్గమ్మ సన్నిధిలో మహాకుంభాభిషేక మహోత్సవం శుక్రవారం వైభవంగా జరిగింది. అమ్మవారి విమానగోపుర శిఖరానికి జరిగిన అభిషేకాన్ని తిలకించేందుకు భక్తులు పోటెత్తారు. జై దుర్గాభవానీ నినాదాలతో ఇంద్రకీలాద్రి మార్మోగింది. మూడు రోజులుగా జరుగుతున్న మహాకుంభాభిషేకంలో భాగంగా దుర్గమ్మ అంతరాలయానికి ఈశాన్య ప్రాంతంలో ఏర్పాటు చేసిన హోంగుండాల వద్ద పలు వైధిక కార్యక్రమాలను నిర్వహించారు.

శుక్రవారం ఉదయం ఆలయానికి చేరుకున్న కంచికామకోటి పీఠాధిపతి జయేంద్రసరస్వతి ఆజ్ఞతో దేవాదాయ శాఖ మంత్రి రామచంద్రయ్య, ఆలయ కార్యనిర్వహణాధికారి ఎం.రఘునాథ్ పూర్ణాహుతి నిర్వహించారు. 12 జీవనదులు, మూడు సముద్రాల నుంచి ప్రత్యేకంగా తీసుకొచ్చిన పవిత్ర జలాలకు మూడు రోజులుగా చేసిన పూజలను ముగించిన అర్చకులు వాటిని మేళతాళాలతో విమానగోపురానికి తీసుకెళ్లారు. అక్కడ కంచిస్వాముల ఆజ్ఞతో విమానగోపురం వద్ద స్వర్ణశిఖరానికి మంత్రి రామచంద్రయ్య, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు వెలంపల్లి శ్రీనివాసరావు, యలమంచలి రవి, మల్లాది విష్ణు, ఈవో రఘునాథ్ అభిషేకం చేశారు. అదే సమయంలో జయేంద్రసరస్వతి స్వామి అంతరాలయంలోని అమ్మవారికి పవిత్ర జలాలతో సంప్రోక్షణ చేశారు. దుర్గమ్మకు ప్రత్యేక పూజలు చేశారు. అమ్మవారికి ప్రీతికరమైన శుక్రవారం రోజున ఈ మహోత్సవం నిర్వహించడంతో ఇంద్రకీలాద్రికి భారీగా భక్తులు తరలివచ్చారు.

వైభవంగా మల్లేశ్వరుని ధ్వజస్తంభ ప్రతిష్ఠ
ఇంద్రకీలాద్రిపై ప్రధాన ఉపాలయమైన శ్రీ మల్లేశ్వరస్వామి సన్నిధిలో ధ్వజస్తంభ ప్రతిష్ఠా మహోత్సవం శుక్రవారం వైభవంగా జరిగింది. జయేంద్ర సరస్వతి ఆధ్వర్యంలో, మంత్రి రామచంద్రయ్య, ఈవో రఘునాథ్, ఎమ్మెల్యే వెలంపల్లి శ్రీనివాసరావు సమక్షంలో ఈ కార్యక్రమం జరిగింది. సుమారు 45 నిమిషాల పాటు జరిగిన ఈ కార్యక్రమాల్లో మంత్రి దంపతులతో పాటుగా పలువురు ప్రముఖులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
